La Torta Festival in Argao, Cebu

La Torta Festival replaced the Pitlagong Festival in 2011. La Torta Festival happens every 28 – 29 of September. From the name of the festival, it showcases Argao’s well-known delicacy called “torta.” Torta is a like a cupcake made with egg yolks, sugar, flour, raisins and cheese. What’s unique about this delicacy, it includes pork lard and tuba in its ingredients.

The La Torta Festival is jam- packed with exciting events and activities that promote the customs and tradtions of Argao. The festival focuses on the cultural heritage of Argao, Cebu and highlighting Argawanons’ practice of making torta during the Spanish time.

The ritual dance showdown and street dancing competitions are just among the main events you should be looking forward to.
